The DLRG Rheinböllen local group has a new motor rescue boat. The new addition is 5.4 meters long, but weighs less than 500 kilograms and has a 100 hp engine. The boat can accommodate up to twelve people, including the boat captain, lifeguards and rescued people. Westenergie Sponsors Raversbeuren Speed System

The local community of Raversbeuren is now ensuring greater safety on the roads with the help of Westenergie AG. The topic of road safety is an important building block for increasing safety on the roads. The infrastructure provider, Westenergie, is therefore supporting the local community financially in this project by purchasing a new speed measuring system. Speed measuring system The system installed is intended to better protect pedestrians, especially children The system is located near the playground, on the main road. The speed measuring system not only shows drivers the speed, but also lights up green when they are driving within the prescribed speed limit.  However, if the speed is displayed in red, this is a signal for drivers to take their foot off the gas and drive more slowly. The system installed is intended to better protect pedestrians, and especially children, from dangerous situations in traffic in the future. Special protection in road traffic The local community of Raversbeuren and the new Mayor - Marion Engelbach, as well as the long-standing Mayor - Horst Möhringer welcome the initiative of Council Member - Stefan Demand and are very pleased about the new measuring system. They stated, "It was particularly important to us to create additional safety for young and older people, because they need special protection in road traffic. With the new speed measuring system, we hope that traffic in our local community will be safer for everyone. Many thanks to Westenergie for the financial support." Small initiatives and large associations In addition to energy supply, Westenergie is traditionally involved in the areas of sport, culture, social affairs, climate protection and education in its partner communities. Through sponsorship and cooperation, the company supports both small initiatives and large associations in order to shape the future together with local people at a social level. More than 12,000 voluntary projects have already been implemented through the employee initiative - 'Westenergie aktiv vor Ort' alone.
