Thanks to modern LED technology, the Kasel Primary School now shines in a new light. Forty-three new ceiling lights now provide contemporary lighting in the municipal building.
The Mayor of the Ruwer municipality, Stephanie Nickels, and other administrative employees were able to see this for themselves during a tour. Also present were Headmistress - Melanie Britten and Marco Felten, Regional Manager of Westenergie AG at the Trier location.

Westenergie is supporting the Ruwer municipality with a financial grant for the modernization. After the renovation, the administration expects to be able to operate the lighting with around a third of the electricity consumption compared to the previous technology.
"With the new LED lighting, we are not only easing the burden on the municipality's budget, but are also saving some of the climate-damaging gas CO2. This contributes to climate protection," said Mayor Nickels.
Modern modernization
Mayor Nickels added: "The modern modernization also provides warmer light, so that the primary school is now better lit. The LED lamps are also impressive thanks to their longer lifespan."
In addition to energy supply, Westenergie is traditionally involved in the areas of sport, culture, social affairs, climate protection and education in its partner communities. Through sponsorship and cooperation, the company supports both small initiatives and large associations in order to shape the future together with local people, also at a social level.
