Categories of energy exhibits
The Dubai solar complex project is currently the most technically advanced solar power plant project in the world
At Shanghai Electric's booth, many visitors were attracted over by two categories of energy exhibits: Industry Map (AR) and scenario-based interactive sand tables for smart energy. This has exemplified Shanghai Electric's all-round expertise in the energy and urban industry sectors.
Several of Shanghai Electric's exhibits became a hit among the audience, including the model for the Dubai 950 MW CSP + PV Project (Phase 4 of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park), the smart wind farm sand table, and the seawater desalination model.

Interactive demonstrations
Additionally, Shanghai Electric offered the visitors a number of interactive demonstrations by multi-media means. For example, visitors were allowed to have an immersive exploration of the 2 × 660 MW Integrated Coal Power Project in Thar, Pakistan, a model project for China's One Belt and One Road Initiative in the energy field, by using a VR headset.
Visitors also had the opportunity to understand the appearance, structure, and features of Shanghai Electric' gas turbines, long-life smart energy storage lithium power containers, and rehabilitation robots through 3D holographic projections. The visitors said they really enjoyed these inspirational and tech-savvy demonstrations.
Digital transformation
Shanghai Electric showcased to the audience for the first time its series of digital-themed exhibits
Hannover Messe has always put "digital transformation" in the spotlight. In response to that, Shanghai Electric showcased to the Hannover Messe audience for the first time its series of digital-themed exhibits collectively called "Discover the beauty of digital manufacturing".
Presented by means of interactive projection, these exhibits gave an outlook of future manufacturing and urban life, explaining how smart factory, industrial Internet, smart supply chain, smart operations and maintenance, digital operations, and smart city will disrupt traditional manufacturing.
