To increase road safety, the local community of Dahnen has installed a speed display board together with Westenergie. The display is intended to remind road users of the speed limit and to urge them to be careful.
The company is supporting the community with a grant to purchase the board. The association is also covering a large part of the total cost of around 5,200 euros for the system.
Improving road safety
Under the leadership of the new Mayor - Axel Jakoby, the speed display will initially be installed at the entrance to Dahnen in the direction of Lützkampen.
"Because of the color displayed on the speedometer, you can see from a distance whether the speed limit has been observed," said former Mayor - Peter Philippe, adding "This will not result in tickets. The data will be stored anonymously and will provide valuable information for further improving road safety at the respective measuring point."
Speed display
Thanks to an environmentally friendly solar module, the speed display does not require its own power connection and can be used at different locations as required.
Christian Nathem, Municipal Manager at Westenergie, emphasized: "I am pleased that we are implementing these measures to improve road safety together with the local community of Dahnen. In this way, we are making a contribution to improving the quality and safety of the location."
