Rosendin Electric, a San Jose, California-based electrical contracting company whose CEO has guided the business for the past three years from its Phoenix office, unveiled plans for its leadership transition on Wednesday.
The changes included the announcement that Mike Greenawalt, a nearly 20-year veteran of the company who has been its leader and a cornerstone of the Valley business community since January 2020, would be stepping down as CEO.
Undergoing rapid transformation
In his place, the company named Keith Douglas as the new chief executive officer. Douglas has worked for the company for 11 years, most recently as chief operating officer for its Eastern region.
“The electrical contracting industry has undergone rapid transformation, and Rosendin’s Executive Leadership Team has been instrumental to ensuring our company and people are at the forefront of change,” Greenawalt, who will become CEO Emeritus, said in a statement. “Keith Douglas will be leading the charge to prepare for the next evolution in construction, and I am proud to pass the torch to such a talented and respected leader.”
Local gross sales

Greenawalt was named one of the Phoenix Business Journal’s Most Admired Leaders in 2020. Rosendin is the largest electrical contractor operating in the Valley ranked by local gross sales, according to PBJ research. The company reported local gross sales of $262 million in 2022.
Besides the CEO change, Rosendin also announced other personnel changes, all of which take effect at the start of 2024. Matt Hisaka will be the company’s new chief financial officer, replacing Lorne Rundquist, who transitions to the role of CFO Emeritus. Hisaka comes to his new role after spending a decade at the company, most recently as a vice president and chief accounting officer.
Unveiling leadership changes
Angie Hart will be the company’s new executive vice president for the West region. Hart has been with the company for 33 years and is currently its senior vice president. Douglas and Hisaka will join the company’s executive leadership team. Greenawalt and Rundquist will remain on the team through 2024 and will help with the transition.
Rosendin, with more than 7,000 employees, is the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting company. Established in 1919, the company has an average annual revenue of $2.9 billion, it said in the announcement unveiling the leadership changes.
