Coventry-based ZPN Energy is working with E.ON Drive to provide a fully carbon-neutral powered exhibition stand, initially intended to be first unveiled at Motofest in Coventry which was subsequently canceled due to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s passing. Instead, the 50 kWh ZPN PWR mobile, off-grid power unit powered ZPN Energy’s stand at the Professional Tow Recovery show using renewable energy from an off-site source - proving that exhibitors can use green energy, even off-grid. The unit, designed and manufactured in Coventry, was adapted from ZPN Energy’s ZAPME Mobile EV Charger. The trailer-housed solution was pre-charged with 100% renewable energy and powered the show stand for the entire two-day event. This silent power source allows exhibitors to be kind to the environment even while off-grid, unlike diesel generators. Mainstay of British life James Foster, CEO of ZPN Energy says, “Festivals are a mainstay of British life now, and exhibitors are an integral part of that ecosystem. Until now they have struggled to find climate-friendly ways to show off their wares, but ZPN PWR changes this forever!” Whether powering a bar, food stall, or even the main stage, ZPN PWR can be used to offer renewable energy silently and with minimal space. Coventry is well known for its role in driving UK manufacturing innovation -from World War 2 fighter aircraft factories to its place today as the UK’s Motor City. Revolutionizing the world Coventry engineers are breaking new ground when it comes to making our lives kinder James concludes, “I’m proud to lead a company with such strong ties to Coventry! As a team, we’re honored to be showing off what our engineers are doing to revolutionize the world of renewable energy solutions with this great technology.” “Coventry engineers are breaking new ground when it comes to making our lives kinder to the planet - whilst having fun at the same time!” Lower carbon motoring Meanwhile, Mark Daniels, Director of Motofest title sponsor E.ON Drive, adds: “Engaging people in the importance of shifting to lower carbon motoring depends on us making the clear benefits to drivers and the planet understood.” Prior to ZPN PWR being available if event organizers wanted clean power for an off-grid event using renewable energy they really would struggle. ZPN PWR gives a choice to the eco-minded and makes a stand for the way of the future!
ZPN Energy is proud to announce that they are the main sponsor of local Coventry Under 14 (U14) football team - Chapelfield Colts. The team is managed by ZPN Energy’s Head of Finance, Anthony Colley. Chapelfield Colts’ first league game of the season was a tough test against a team, which has recently stepped down from a higher league. Chaps came out of the blocks sharpish and created a host of chances early on. ZPN Energy - main sponsor of Chapelfield Colts The breakthrough came on 22 minutes when a brilliant defense splitting pass from Austin Okafor was met with very tidy finish from new club signing - David Olwabi. Chapelfield Colts remained on top and despite an injury to their center-half - Mason Sutton, they doubled their lead just before half-time, when Mason Sutton’s replacement - Karais Messam tapped in from 2 yards out, following another brilliant run from David Owalabi. The second half of the game was a solid, gritty performance and Chapelfield Colts ran out comfortable 2-0 winners. Man of the match was right-back for the team, Max Harlock.
UK business consultancy and data analysts Experian have shown that only better infrastructure can maintain the EV revolution. A 291% growth in electric vehicle numbers over the last two years matched with only a 35% growth in EV chargers in the last 12 months. Cities Vs Countryside Somewhat unsurprisingly, Experian showed that those living in less dense housing have a better chance of installing home chargers. Their data showed that Buckinghamshire, South Cambridgeshire, and Wokingham have large numbers of homes with driveways and can have chargers installed. In this case, Experian is working with power networks to help homeowners install chargers. Conversely, the Experian data showed that higher-density urban areas like Brighton, Bristol, and Edinburgh have fewer homes with driveways. The consultancy is working with local authorities to support them in installing on-street charging equipment for their residents. EVs as better alternatives By modeling where demand is to be most concentrated, infrastructure planners can begin to meet the challenge" Colin Grieves, Managing Director, of Experian Marketing Services, said, “Our analysis shows that consumers now view EVs as a better alternative to traditional vehicles, and this trend is only going to increase. However, the appetite may be thwarted if the correct infrastructure is not in place." "By modeling where demand is likely to be most concentrated in the forthcoming years, infrastructure planners can begin to meet the challenge effectively.” Uneven distribution Much of the driving public will be driving electric vehicles in the coming years but this is likely to be spread unevenly across the UK. The commuter towns Experian showed above are classic, after London rapidly installed them in response to booming demand, so people moving out of the capital are increasingly choosing EVs after leaving. How ZPN Can Help ZPN Energy can support local authorities with its Park Hubz and Street Hubz charging equipment. These chargers do not require a 22kW three-phase energy supply unlike many other rapid chargers on the market due to being pre-installed with energy storage, thus removing the need for intrusive and inconvenient groundwork. With ZPN charging equipment, perhaps installed as part of a LEVI grant bid, they can help meet the residents’ future electric vehicle charging needs.
