Luminus Devices announces the launch and immediate availability of a new high-efficacy family of 7070 mid-power LEDs designed for high performance and long-term reliability. These new MP-7070 LEDs are available in both a 12V (MP-7070-4600 series) and 36V (MP 7070-T200 series) and are made with sulfur-resistance coating technology for long-lumen maintenance in outdoor and industrial environments. optical efficiency and performance While nominal drive conditions operate the device around 8W, customers can use these products in a range from 5W to 15W to maximize the lumen/Watt or lumen/$ values, respectively. In a square 7x7mm package, with a 6.3mm diameter round light emitting surface (LES), the MP7070 delivers excellent optical performance in both narrow beam and wide beam flood light applications. While competitors’ 7070 products have a square LES, Luminus’ round LES delivers higher optical efficiency and attractive beam shape, especially in narrow beam optical systems. RoHS and REACH compliant The MP-7070 LEDs allow illumination engineers and designers to develop lighting solutions In addition, they are compatible with both automatic placement equipment, and infrared reflow solder processes, and are RoHS and REACH compliant. The MP-7070 LEDs allow illumination engineers and designers to develop lighting solutions with maximum efficacy, brightness, and overall quality. What makes the MP-7070s stand out from other 7070 LEDs? efficacy, reliability, affordability, and quality Tom Jory, VP of Illumination Marketing, highlights “Customers have been asking for a powerful, robust SMT emitter with high efficacy, reliability, affordability, and Luminus’ outstanding quality of light." "Our engineers have delivered on all of these requests and further differentiated from the competition by packing it all into a 6.3mm diameter round LES, which delights optical engineers with a small source size for optimal efficiency in narrow-beam directional optical systems.” This product line is available through Luminus’ authorized distributors.

Luminus and Current Chemicals, a division of Current, announced that the two parties have signed a KSF phosphor licensing agreement enabling worldwide use of TriGain® PFS (commonly known as KSF) phosphor in Luminus LED products. The agreement provides Luminus with a substantial advantage over competitors who use KSF from other suppliers, as TriGain® PFS provides best-in-class efficacy, lumen maintenance, moisture resistance, and stability over temperature and current. TriGain® phosphor Building on a reputation for the industry’s best quality of light and LED efficacy, Luminus blended this TriGain® phosphor with a robust bill of materials in the company’s California R&D labs to enable higher CRI, higher R9 values, color stability, and lumen maintenance over a wide range of operating conditions. Luminus will be launching new COBs and mid-power LEDs with 90+ and 95+ CRI with high efficacy In the coming weeks, Luminus will be launching new COBs and mid-power LEDs with 90+ and 95+ CRI with high efficacy that would normally be expected from an 80 CRI LED. Paired with Luminus’ incredibly smooth, consistent spectrum, optimized lumen/watt performance, and lively, vibrant warm tones without the greenish tint, these new LED products will be ideal solutions for retail lighting, hospitality, and other commercial applications. efficacy and stability Tom Jory, VP of Illumination Marketing at Luminus adds, “We compared TriGain® PFS with other KSF products on the market, and the choice became crystal clear that only Current’s material, combined with our LED packaging expertise, will provide our customers with amazing efficacy, the highest level of stability and fabulous color rendering across the spectrum." "This is especially important in Europe, where commercial lighting customers are reducing energy consumption and being rewarded with rebates without having to sacrifice quality of light.” KSF/PFS phosphor technology “We are pleased to license our KSF/PFS phosphor technology to Luminus to further enable high CRI, high-quality lighting products in the market,” said Bill Cohen, Vice President and General Manager of Current Chemicals. “We look forward to a strong collaboration with Luminus as we support their efforts with our bellwether TriGain® PFS/KSF phosphors.”
