Hunt’s Chief Operating Officer Keith Colvard recently announced the promotion of Jim Monroe to Operations Manager of Hunt’s Duluth branch! Jim’s love of electronics started early, and he has always enjoyed the challenge of understanding circuits and troubleshooting things. After high school, he joined the Air Force, where he worked as an Avionics/Electric Welfare technician for four years before transitioning to the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth. He then spent 12 years as a field electrician and has been a part of Hunt since we acquired API Electric in 2012. He became Project Manager in 2019, and the rest is history! As a field foreman, he oversaw the electrical construction of several large projects up North, including Maurice’s 11-story headquarters in Duluth, and Cooper Elementary School in Superior. As a PM, he oversaw the expansion of two Duluth-area hospitals as well as the Carlton Country Justice Center. Grateful for the opportunities They asked Jim why Hunt is the right fit for him. “Because I can’t imagine being anywhere else!” he said. “I’ve honestly had the fortune of working alongside some of the best people I could have ever asked for throughout my time here, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunities Hunt has presented me with.” They feel fortunate to work alongside Jim, too! Dylan Skaro has been promoted to the position of Financial Controller at Hunt Electric. Dylan’s new team will consist of multiple GL Accountants, the Accounts Payable team, a Financial Analyst, and a Tax Accountant. His team will prepare financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports to help management make timely and strategic decisions for the company. Dylan Skaro appointed Financial Controller Dylan has helped design reports in Qlik to help Hunt Electric be more efficient Dylan found his passion for accounting early on, when he took an accounting class in high school. Since joining Hunt Electric in 2013, he has been a pivotal part of the accounting team. Dylan has helped design reports in Qlik to help Hunt Electric be more efficient; helped create the Annual Financial Plan and subsequent Quarterly forecasts; and he was involved in the creation of the company’s current financial statement with a software called Spreadsheet Server. Extensive industry experience With so many important projects under his belt, it is hard for Dylan to pick a favorite. But if he had to choose? He says, “I have really enjoyed creating financial reports (Financial Statements and the Financial Plan) for Hunt Electric. These reports allow us to set goals, track our progress, and give us the data we need to make strategic decisions to move the company in the right direction.” Dylan is excited to be a part of the continued growth of Hunt Electric and is happy to be at a company that offers the opportunity for individual growth.
