Together with the energy service provider and infrastructure provider Westenergie, the local community of Oberweiler has modernized the lighting in the fire station.
Thanks to the campaign, four new and environmentally friendly LED damp-proof lights and additional LED spotlights are now in service in the building. Westenergie is supporting the local community of Oberweiler with a subsidy towards the costs of the modernization.
Long-lasting LED lighting
On site, Local Mayor - Nico Steinbach, together with representatives of the fire department and Westenergie, took the opportunity to view the new technology in the fire station and thanked the fire department for their own efforts.
"With the new, long-lasting LED lighting, we are not only easing the burden on the municipality's budget, but are also saving some of the climate-damaging gas CO2. This is a contribution to climate protection," stated Local Mayor - Nico Steinbach during the inspection.
Christian Nathem, Municipal Manager at Westenergie in the Trier region, stated: "Converting lighting systems in public spaces to efficient LED technology always pays off and benefits environmental protection."
