Although officially retired from his full-time role with the NICEIC, industry legend, Tony Cable, has not disappeared completely from the electrical industry scene, and Scolmore is enjoying having him on board in a consultancy role with the business.

Tony will be joining forces with the nation’s favorite sparky, Billy Byrne, on the Scolmore stand at the first ELEX show of 2018 which kicks off at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday, 31st January, and Thursday, 1st February.

Work experience

With a career spanning an impressive 60 years, Tony has amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge during his rise from apprentice at the age of 15 and Scolmore is very excited to have the opportunity to harness his expertise and skills as the company continues to develop its product ranges.

Having first trained as an electrician in the 60s, Billy is passionate about the industry and is particularly keen to encourage and support the development of apprentices through the whole process. He proved a hit with the candidates when he came along to show his support at last year’s Electrical Apprentice of the Year competition finals at Scolmore’s head office in Tamworth, Staffs.

Scolmore at ELEX

Tony and Billy will be joining the Scolmore team on stands E170, E136, and E142 at ELEX Alexandra Palace, where they will be sharing anecdotes and their vast knowledge of the trade with the hundreds of electricians visiting the show.
