Tele-Fonika Kable S.A. (‘Tele-Fonika’), a global supplier of HV and EHV cable systems for the renewable energy sector, has been chosen by Polimex Mostostal to supply cables and accessories for the Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm project.

Polimex Mostostal, in partnership with GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions, has been awarded a key contract for building the onshore infrastructure, including a 275/400 kV high voltage substation, including STATCOMs and onshore export lines for efficient power transfer to the Polish Power System.

This wind farm, with a capacity of approximately 1.5 GW, will be the largest wind power plant in Polish Baltic Sea waters.

Tele-Fonika to supply cables for Baltica 2 Wind Farm

Tele-Fonika will manufacture and deliver approximately 90 km of 275 kV EHV land cables

Tele-Fonika will manufacture and deliver approximately 90 km of 275 kV EHV land cables from their plant in Bydgoszcz, along with accessories. This production is scheduled for 2025.

The Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm is located 25 km offshore between Łeba and Ustka, with the necessary land infrastructure to be built in the Choczewo municipality.

Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm project

The Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm project is a significant energy initiative in Poland, aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix by 2027. This project will help reduce CO2 emissions and enhance Poland’s energy security, supporting the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 by providing 100% green energy to end consumers.

Tele-Fonika’s contribution through 100% local production will significantly boost national benefits from investments in the offshore sector.
