Sofamel recently in collaboration with the Elektra Catalunya Group, organized a technical workshop dealing with electrical risks in the railway industry. Representatives from different companies in the sector, such as Alstom, Talgo, and TMB, were present at the event.

The workshop looked at: the importance of following the 5 golden rules to ensure an installation is de-energized; the use and quality of PPE; and Sofamel’s solutions for the railway sector, including special portable earthing equipment for overhead lines and railway rails.

Correct installation sequence

Also discussed was the correct installation sequence for PAT equipment and voltage detectors for railway installations and the details of how they operate.

Sofamel is familiar with the specific needs of the railway sector and they are currently working on providing solutions by designing new poles for cleaning wagons and new earthing equipment for traction substations. They continue to work on providing practical solutions to real problems and offering the customers with the best-personalized service!
