The 15th (2021) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition (SNEC) was held in Shanghai, China, from June 3 to 5, 2021. For the first time, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group, Shanghai Electric New Energy Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Guoxuan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. formed a group to participate in the exhibition.
With the theme 'Build A New Industrial Ecology and Create New Energy Values', the group displayed products and services on six main areas of zero-carbon power, green hydrogen production, industrial energy conservation, green transportation, green construction and smart energy storage, and presented Shanghai Electric’s 'carbon neutrality' solution that was empowered by smart energy and targeted at the whole industrial chain, fully illustrating how Shanghai Electric implements its responsibility as the leader of the energy industry.
Speeded up the transformation
In recent years, Shanghai Electric has speeded up the transformation towards areas of solar power, hydrogen power, energy storage, distributed energy and biomass power on basis of its sights into the future of the energy industry, and the energy reform via smart and digital tools.
The one-stop smart energy systematic solution on display employed Shanghai Electric’s latest technologies and application practices achieved in the past decade in areas of green hydrogen production, wind power, solar power, energy storage, distributed energy and desalination.
It attracted the most attention because of its unique carrier that combined a transparent screen and multimedia sandbox.

What’s more, the 'System-Level Batter Management System Technology That Can Be Applied in Electrochemical Energy Storage' released by Shanghai Electric at the exhibition won the 'Megawatt Jadeite Award' as one of the 'ten highlights'.
The technology pinpoints problems of energy storage system applications. Shanghai Electric optimizes the holistic system structure, and compresses the space by 8% through high integration, which allows it to dynamically capture errors on cloud and broadcast errors recorded with millisecond precision.
Therefore, it is able to ensure stable and high-performance operation of power storage stations and maximize the commercial and data value of such stations.
The SNEC
The SNEC is an industrial exhibition jointly hosted by solar energy industrial associations from different countries, and seen as the world’s most professional fair on technologies and equipment of solar power, energy storage and hydrogen power.
The 15th edition of the SNEC event themed “PV Shines on ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative” and “Smart Industry Brightens the World” covered an area of over 200,000 m2, and attracted over 1,800 exhibitors from 95 countries and regions and more than 200,000 visitors.
Shanghai Electric New Energy Co., Ltd. and Trina Solar inked an agreement on strategic cooperation at the exhibition. Both would leverage their strengths to push the boundary of clean energy and achieve win-win outcomes through cooperating in new models and sharing resources.
