The steam generators for molten salt towers, another key piece of equipment for the Dubai 950MW CSP+PV solar power project, were shipped from Lingang Plant on the morning of May 28. The generators were manufactured by Shanghai Power Plant Auxiliary Machine Factory Co., Ltd. (the factory), a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric.
The factory was entrusted with 136 heat exchangers and storage tanks, among which the most important is the steam generator system (SGS) for molten salt towers produced for Spanish Company Lointek. The system involves superheaters, preheaters, reheaters, and steam drums.
Dubai solar power project
The Dubai solar power project undertaken by Shanghai Electric has a total installed capacity of 950MW, including a 100-MW CSP tower unit, three 200-MW parabolic trough CSP units, and a 250-MW PV system. It overshadows its peers around the globe in terms of installed capacity, technical standards, and investment amount.
It is also an iconic project of Shanghai Electric to follow through with the principle of "consultation and cooperation for shared benefits" proposed in the Belt and Road Initiative.
