Scolmore has further developed its collection of Inceptor integrated LED downlights with the addition of a new fire-rated version of its hugely popular Inceptor Pico product.

Originally launched in September 2016, Inceptor Pico was designed to provide contractors with a lower-cost lighting solution for those applications not requiring a fire-rated fitting. However, such has been the demand for a fire-rated version of this popular product, that Scolmore has listened to customers and the new model is available and will sit alongside the original Pico.

Inceptor Pico FG fire-rated LED downlight

Pico FG is supplied with a pre-attached fly lead to making installation even easier and quicker

The new Inceptor Pico FG fire-rated fixed integrated LED downlight offers a cost-effective LED solution whilst producing an excellent light output for the power utilized. It is ideal for installations where the void depth is limited and fire rating is required.

As well as a fire rating of 30, 60 and 90 minutes, Pico FG has several additional benefits. It will be supplied with a pre-attached fly lead rather than terminals to make installation even easier and quicker and thus adding to time saved on the job by the contractor.

Insulation Support Clip

The Inceptor Pico is also compatible with Scolmore’s new Insulation Support Clip, which has been developed to allow installers to lay thermal insulation directly over the Inceptor Pico. The Insulation Support Clip creates a 20mm air space above the driver which allows air to circulate and cool. This allows the driver to dissipate heat more effectively and in turn, allows the luminaire to run cooler.

The Inceptor Pico combines several other key features which set it apart from competitor products. With its 50mm profile, the fitting is ideal for installations where the void depth is limited and it has an adaptable cut-out to fit apertures of between 70mm and 75mm in diameter. The height of the spring brackets has been increased to allow the product to be installed in ceiling thicknesses of 36mm.

IP65 rated Pico downlight

Pico downlight incorporates SMD LED technology giving high-reliability performance and utilizing little power

The new Pico downlight utilizes a lens constructed from high-quality polycarbonate and the frosted front provides improved beam angle resulting in smoother light distribution. A 90° beam angle produces a larger spread of light to provide more light coverage.

The fitting is also IP65 rated, which makes it dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. This means it is an ideal solution for kitchens, bathrooms, and wet rooms. It incorporates SMD LED technology, which produces high-reliability performance and utilizes very little power.

low maintenance downlight

With an energy rating of A+ and an L70 LED lifetime of 20,000 hours, the Inceptor Pico FG requires zero maintenance and offers low energy consumption for the lifetime of the product.

Available in a dimmable option as standard, the Pico FG can be easily switched or dimmed utilizing a variety of methods. It is suitable for use with Scolmore’s range of Click Smart intelligent automation products. It is offered in three of Scolmore’s most popular finishes – White, Satin Chrome, and Chrome and in cool white and warm white options.
