A container for young people is available in the town of Bitburg at the central bus station (ZOB). The container offers young people a safe meeting place outside their own four walls. It is almost six meters long, two meters wide, and three meters high, and is equipped with a table, four chairs, a kettle, a shelf, and a table football table.

The opening times are flexible and can be read weekly outside next to the door of the container. With the support of Westenergie, the Caritas Association Westeifel has now been able to open the youth center.

important contribution

District Administrator - Andreas Kruppert, Mayor - Joachim Kandels, and Westenergie Municipal Manager - Christian Nathem took a look at the container and the work of the Caritas Association on site.

Andreas Kruppert said, "I am pleased to see how committed the Caritas employees are to their work. They are making an important contribution to the city of Bitburg."

Joachim Kandels added, "I am relieved that the young people of this city have a contact point for their worries and problems. The work of Caritas is important and is moving our city forward."

consequences of social participation

These measures are intended to counteract further consequences of difficulties in social participation, such as the development of consumption and addiction.

"I think it is important to give the young people a safe place to retreat to where they feel at home. This makes it easier for them to ask for help," said Holger Stodulka, explaining the background of the project.
