What a year! For every lead RECOM received on a European trade show tour, it is donating funds to offset the CO2 footprint cost of attendance.

Impact of travel
RECOM always appreciates the opportunity to meet face-to-face. Still, it understands the impact international and regional travel has on the environment. Some transportation experts say tourism accounts for 8% of the world’s carbon footprint.
So, RECOM wanted to find a way to give back with a budding idea that would grow as strong as the connections made during the year!

How does planting 700 trees help the environment?
Trees remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air. They also exhale more of the delicious stuff, oxygen, that humans need. Trees are experts at fighting climate change, the more of them people have, the cleaner air can be!
- Each tree absorbs 25 kg of CO2 per year, equivalent to the emissions caused by driving 70km!
- The trees planted will offset 70,000km of traveling (almost twice around the world!).
- electronica announced a total of 70,000 visitors attended this year’s event in Munich. That means these trees offset almost a kilometer of CO2 per visitor!
- With 30,000 power supplies in the RECOM product catalog, that’s over 2km for every product we sell!
- And this is every year for at least the next 60–100 years!
The RECOM-supported reforestation program plants trees around the world. These organizations make things more leafy, lush, and green in 28 countries, restoring barren land affected by human activity and natural disasters.
Looking towards a greener future
As a member of the electronics industry, RECOM is always looking for ways to reduce its carbon footprint. This tree-planting initiative is just one of the ways it is supporting the planet.
RECOM has branched out its portfolio to support regions investing in environmentally friendly rail projects and deepened roots in DC/DC converters for the solar energy sector.
