The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for products being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland).
It applies to the same products that are currently CE-marked.
UKCA mark
The circumstances in which self-declaration of conformity for UKCA marking can be used are the same as for CE marking.
Based on current UK rules, RECOM is eligible to self-declare for the UKCA Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and to attach the UKCA mark on product labels or product documentation until 31 Dec 2025 for existing CE-marked products.
Basis for testing
The existing stock already imported into GB by the end of this year (31 Dec. 2022) will not need to be re-tested
In addition, the latest update from the UK government (June 20, 2022) states that all CE certificates carried out by independent EU-approved bodies and completed before the end of this year (31 Dec. 2022) can be used as a basis for UKCA marking until the expiry of that certificate or until end of 2027 (31 December 2027), whichever is sooner.
The existing stock already imported into GB by the end of this year (31 Dec. 2022) will not need to be re-tested or re-labeled.
UKCA DoC
RECOM will provide a separate UKCA Declaration of Conformity (DoC) based on the existing CE Declarations of Conformity (DoC) and/or test reports (self-declaration) on request.
RECOM will continue to actively monitor any changes to the UKCA rules based on UK government guidance and react accordingly. RECOM will also instigate a program to successively add the UKCA mark to CE-marked products to fulfill our obligations as manufacturers.
