E.ON will be presenting several innovative products for all customer groups at the E-world energy trade fair in Essen from February 6 to 8. From the virtual storage of solar power via a thermal battery for municipal heating networks to the filling station of the future, E.ON will showcase numerous ways in which customers can benefit from the opportunities offered by the new energy world.

More and more customers are expecting sustainable solutions that protect both the environment and their wallets,” says E.ON Board member Karsten Wildberger. “All our innovations meet this customer requirement.”

But they offer even more. With the help of digital technology, we are also creating solutions that make life more comfortable for private households and help companies simplify their energy supply processes,” says Wildberger. In Hall 3, trade fair visitors can find out about the following new products for private customers, companies, and cities.

E.ON SolarCloud

E.ON and Viessmann are presenting a cooperation agreement

E.ON is the first company to offer its customers the option of storing their own solar power without the usual battery. From now on, owners of photovoltaic systems can feed their energy directly into the E.ON SolarCloud without any limit.

This virtual electricity account can be accessed not only for the energy demand at home, but also in other places. Compared to a battery, the new system is much simpler and more comfortable. Customers save the acquisition and installation costs of a physical storage device, do not need any space, and have no maintenance effort.

Above all, customers have the opportunity to save an electricity credit balance for the winter in the sunny months and thus to supply themselves 100 percent with solar power from their own photovoltaic system.

E.ON WärmeService

In Essen, E.ON and heating technology manufacturer Viessmann are presenting a cooperation agreement to fight the renovation backlog in 16 million heating cellars. Since many homeowners are shying away from investing in a new environmentally friendly heating system, E.ON offers a rental model for sustainable heat supply using modern natural gas heating systems.

With the E.ON WärmeService instead of a major investment in a new heating system, homeowners pay a monthly amount for the provision of a state-of-the-art system including maintenance, repair, and service. In addition to the monthly fixed price, there is a flexible basic and working price for the individual heat consumption.

E.ON remains the owner and operator of the new heating system. In this way, property owners benefit from an all-inclusive package that covers all heating costs without having to worry about the financing and operation of a new heating system.

ectogrid

E.ON is presenting a technological innovation that can significantly reduce the environmental impact

Under the brand name ectogrid, E.ON is presenting a technological innovation that can significantly reduce the environmental impact of cities. ectogrid uses a highly efficient, cold heating network to connect buildings within a city.

The result is a thermal battery that compensates for the cooling and heating requirements of different buildings. In this system, for example, a data center can use its own waste heat to cover the heating requirements of several apartments or offices and, in return, obtain cooling for the cooling of server rooms from other buildings.

Thanks to this balancing function, only a significantly reduced residual energy has to be supplied to the system. E.ON already successfully operates an ectogrid system in Sweden and now also offers this solution to German cities.

E.ON DrivePlaza

E.ON is adding a branch office directly in front of the E.ON building across from the trade fair grounds to E.ON. With E.ON DrivePlaza, the company is presenting an intelligent charging concept that can intelligently integrate companies' electric vehicle fleets into the network.

With this power filling station of the future, several vehicles can be charged simultaneously. It includes charging columns, a battery storage tank for mains compensation, and a roof construction with its own solar power generation.

A central aspect is load management, whereby the load is distributed evenly over the mains connection. The concept thus brings advantages for network operators and companies: It protects the grid and avoids expensive load peaks when purchasing electricity.

E.ON Optimum

The system provides a perfect understanding of the energy industry's interrelationships

With its Optimum energy management system, E.ON is presenting a software for companies that delivers real energy intelligence and thus combines climate protection and cost-effectiveness.

The system provides a perfect understanding of the energy industry's interrelationships within the company. This gives customers a detailed overview of the energy consumption of individual systems and components.

On the basis of the analysis, savings potentials can be identified, energy consumption can be better controlled and the energy efficiency can be improved.
