"Free your Energy" will be attended by renowned artists from all fourteen operating E.ON countries in Europe

As part of the initiative of E.ON, the Hotel de Rome at Bebelplatz will be a major attraction of the festival. To mark the 30th anniversary of 2019- the fall of the Berlin Wall, E.ON called for an international street art challenge on the topic of "Free your Energy".

It will be attended by renowned artists from all fourteen operating E.ON countries in Europe who will present their works on the facade of the hotel. The public can vote for their favorites during the festival via online voting.

Photo contest

In addition, E.ON offers visitors the opportunity to participate in a photo contest. Anyone who takes a photo at the festival and uploads it to Instagram with the hashtag #lightsbyEON has the opportunity to win one of many attractive prizes from the latest smartphone to a Smart Home-package.

To introduce the festival to younger audiences, E.ON works with a range of local and international influencers from bloggers to YouTube creators to Instagramers. This enables individual stories to emerge from the perspective of digital natives.

increase the quality of life

"E.ON is a long-standing, reliable, and innovative partner, which always brings outstanding ideas of its own to the festival. It’s the common goal of E.ON and the festival to increase the quality of life in Berlin. This is how our city gets the most out of the partnership," said Birgit Zander, director of the Festival of Lights, at the presentation of the program in Berlin.

"We want to improve people's lives; be it through our products or through the support of outstanding actions. In addition to the integration project "MitternachtsSport e.V.", we count the wonderful Festival of Lights in Berlin as an outstanding project. We like to be right in the middle of the festival, making millions of people happy," emphasized Carsten Thomsen-Bendixen, Head of Stakeholder Communications and Group Spokesman.
