NR off-grid microgrid solution for Ethiopian Power distribution company, which is part of the World Bank-financed 'Lighting up Africa' project, passed the factory acceptance test successfully in March.

The project integrates distributed power supply, battery energy storage system, energy conversion device, load monitoring and protection device.

Advantages of energy utilization efficiency

The whole system not only meets the power demand of the whole load of the village in sunny days

The system will realize self-control, protection and management, and has the advantages of improving energy utilization efficiency, improving security and reliability of power supply, reducing power transmission loss, reducing environmental impact.

This off-grid microgrid system has the characteristics of power supply reliability, high light energy conversion rate, system stability and economy.

The whole system not only meets the power demand of the whole load of the village in sunny days, but also maked use of the rain gap and diesel generator to supplement energy even during the rainy season in Ethiopia, so as to meet the basic power demand of the village.

Problem of electrification in remote areas

The system has been highly recognized by the Ethiopian electric power company, and will be promoted and applied in 256 village projects of 'Lighting Africa'.

At present, the system has been delivered to the site, which will provide clean and sustainable power for Albasa village in Ethiopia and solve the problem of electrification in remote areas.
