On June 12, 2020, 500kV Kangshu project with two sets of 1000MVar Series Compensation (SC) supplied by NR Electric, has successfully completed the artificial grounding short circuit test and delivered to the users for operation.
The 500kV Kangshu Series Compensation project is a key project of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). The project will meet the demand of surplus hydropower transmission, improve the security and stability level of power grid in Kanggan region, and realize the optimization of Southwest of China clean energy resources in a larger range.
After the project is put into operation, the clean energy transmission capacity of Kangshu and Ganshu channels will be increased from 4800MW to 6300MW.
