Following the closing of the 6th edition of their internal well-being ‘Moving Challenge’ program, GlobalLogic have successfully reached their common team target to unlock a company donation.
As a result, they are glad to support two healthcare initiatives with a total of 20, 000$.
GlobalLogic donates for social projects
These social projects were proposed and voted on by their colleagues participating in the ‘Moving Challenge’ from a selection of 18 causes:
- Hospice Emanuel in Oradea – That offers palliative care of adult patients and children diagnosed with advanced incurable disease in the municipality of Oradea and neighboring localities. The 10, 000$ donation will help fund the ongoing construction of a new center and the installation of a heating system.
- ‘Sfantul Hristofor’ Pediatric Palliative Care Center from Cluj-Napoca – That aims to provide free comprehensive assistance to children with progressive chronic diseases. The 10, 000$ donation will contribute to building a new elevator in the facility and ensuring food provisions for the patients.
Supporting healthcare initiatives
Alexandra Achim, HR Head at GlobalLogic Romania, said, “As supporting healthcare initiatives is one of the main pillars underlying our corporate social responsibility efforts, we appreciate being part of the worthy causes proposed and chosen by our colleagues.”
She adds, “To be honest, I never would have imagined six years ago how important the Moving Challenge program would become for many of us, and the significant impact it would have on individuals and our community.”
Alexandra Achim continues, “Working together towards a common goal over the past three years, since we incorporated the CSR layer, has truly enhanced the program’s gamification aspect. I am proud of the entire team for selecting these two associations that benefited from GlobalLogic Romania’s support this year.”
About Moving Challenge Program
The Moving Challenge is a 6-month sports program that was initiated by Fortech
The Moving Challenge is a 6-month sports program that was initiated by Fortech (now GlobalLogic Romania) 6 years ago as an internal well-being initiative. Its primary goal is to encourage participants to get outside daily and engage in biking, running, and walking activities.
As Fortech completed its integration journey with GlobalLogic at the beginning of 2024, the Moving Challenge was expanded to include the EMEA region.
Therefore, this year, colleagues from Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Germany, and Sweden joined the program, which ran from May 10th to November 10th.
The CSR Layer – Moving for Good
The Moving Challenge program not only aims to enhance employee wellbeing but also includes a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component. This layer is activated when the team collectively reaches a target of 250,000 kilometers through walking, running, and biking.
Upon achieving this target, GlobalLogic Romania will donate 10, 000$ and contribute an additional $0.25 for each kilometer covered by participants beyond the initial target, up to an extra 10.000$. This means a total potential donation of 20, 000$ for the 2024 edition. They are thrilled to share that this year, we exceeded our team target by 2.1 times.
Criteria - NGOs must be from Romania
The NGOs must be from Romania and are nominated by the participants themselves
The NGOs must be from Romania and are nominated by the participants themselves, who are also granted the final vote to determine which causes will receive the funding.
This year, the two NGOs that received 10, 000$ each were Hospice Emanuel from Oradea and ‘Sfantul Hristofor’ Pediatric Palliative Care Center from Cluj-Napoca, both of which specialize in palliative care for children and adults.
GlobalLogic receives Silver Award at Romanian CSR Awards
In 2023, GlobalLogic supported the Magic and Something New Associations with 10, 000€ each to develop their impactful educational projects. They were also honored to receive the Silver Award in the ‘Employee Support’ category at Romanian CSR Awards 2024 for the outcomes of the Moving Challenge 2023.
In 2022, GlobalLogic donated 15, 000€ to the Ajungem Mari NGO, supporting their aim of empowering children and young people to grow into responsible, independent, and happy individuals.
