Labcraft, the Southeast-based designer and producer of commercial vehicle lighting, is showing a range of interior and exterior LED lighting solutions for emergency vehicles at the Emergency Services Show 2023 in Birmingham.

The company serves a multitude of customers and vehicle types in the emergency sectors, including manufacturers, converters, and equipment specifiers, always designing the optimum, application-specific lighting solutions for each specialist market.

Scenelite range

Featured at the show and widely used by emergency services vehicles throughout Europe, Labcraft’s Scenelite range is the first of its type to provide a continuous light source, illuminating exterior work areas for ambulances, fire brigade, police, and breakdown vehicles.

Available in black or white in a tough polycarbonate case, the Si9 is a versatile light used in a wide range of applications to provide a wide beam of bright, white light for the darkest working environments.

Si7 and Si8

Si7 and Si8 come in standard white, black, red, and yellow and can be matched to suit individual company brands

Complimenting the Scenelite range, Labcraft’s Si7 and Si8 come in standard white, black, red, and yellow and can be matched to suit individual company brands, vehicle types, and applications.

The solid aluminum casing is engineered to suit a broad range of vehicles and voltages and can withstand changes in voltage, providing a consistent light output. All Scenelites are protected against severe weather conditions. With a 10-year warranty, says Labcraft, they offer a true ‘fit & forget’ lighting solution.

Safety and ease of operation

Efficient lighting, stresses Labcraft, is critical for the inside and outside of the vehicle, with reliability, suitability, and longevity crucial for every operation. These criteria, says Labcraft, ensure maximum safety and ease of operation for firemen, paramedics, and emergency support personnel.

Important too, says Labcraft is the need for bright yet contained lighting when accessing onboard equipment in lockers and storage areas.

Safety and reliability

Our A&E vehicles have been designed to meet rigorous challenges and to provide the highest standards of safety"

To this end, Labcraft’s range of high-intensity strip lights provides the ideal solution, as confirmed by UK Ambulance Conversion and Design Specialist Blue Light Services, “Our A&E vehicles have been designed to meet rigorous challenges and to provide the highest standards of safety and reliability which of course means we need to know that the working lights are not only as bright as possible but also will not fail."

"To this end, I’m pleased to say that in five years, we’ve never yet had to change a Labcraft light!"

Flux light

Also on display at the show will be Labcraft’s market-proven Flux light. Widely specified across the emergency services sector, the low-profile surface-mounted Flux comes in 3 options, producing a bright, anti-glare light up to 2350 lumens.

Moreover, the Flux light is available with optional blue or red LEDs at both ends to provide bright illumination for trauma and nightlight conditions. It is 100% dimmable when used in conjunction with a pulse width modulator allowing full control over the level of light required.

CENcompliant units, Banksman light

Labcraft Banksman system delivers additional bright, white light around the vehicle to areas

CEN (European committee responsible for standards in the field of vision) compliant units are available and the Labcraft team will be on hand to provide full information regarding the latest CEN regulations, helping to ensure the correct and most suitable specification for eaal application.

For safer maneuvering in poor light or darkness, operators of larger equipment such as fire engines and tenders can benefit from Labcraft’s Banksman light. Mounted at various points on the underside of the chassis, the Labcraft Banksman system delivers additional bright, white light around the vehicle to areas that conventional reversing lights cannot reach.

Vehicle-type approvals

It is suitable for any vehicle required to work in areas of darkness or poor light and simple to install either to pre-registered vehicles, as ‘standard’, or for retrofitting to an existing fleet.

All Labcraft products are manufactured in the UK and meet vehicle-type approvals. The Labcraft team will be present on stand L124 in hall 5 at the NEC on the 19th and 20th of September.
