On January 31, 2020, the first digital substation integrated with NR PCS-S products was officially put into commercial operation in Concordia, Ecuador.
The project integrates NR Electric’s latest generation of protection & control products, including PCS-931S Line Differential Relay, PCS-915S Busbar Relay, PCS-221S Merging Unit and PCS-9700 SCADA system etc.

PCS-9705S Bay Control Unit integrates PMU function
PCS-9705S Bay Control Unit integrates PMU function, realizes the operation & maintenance requirements of automatic switching of AC & DC system, intelligent alarm of communication network, and automatic switching of protection function through powerful logic and analog programming.
After detailed test by the customer's engineer, all the functions meet the Ecuadorian power grid operation regulations.

The successful operation of La Concordia digital substation marks that PCS-S series products have the advanced application to fulfill the requirements for digital substation. NR Electric will continue to deliver high-quality protection automation control systems to global customers.
The site which used the NR experienced digital substation solution has reduced a lot of wire cable in the switchyard and it also will save the substation maintenance costs in the future.
