Energy Solutions, the provider of cost-efficient sustainable hybrid power solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Stuart as Chief Operations Officer (COO) with effect from 8 July 2024.
Nigel Stuart joins Energy Solutions, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles in the luxury maritime industry. Before his new position, Nigel served as COO at Holland and Holland, where he was recruited by the Beretta family to lead the rejuvenation of the business following their acquisition in January 2021.
During his tenure, he successfully revitalized the company, driving it towards new heights of excellence.
Prior roles of Nigel
Prior to his role at Holland and Holland, Nigel was the Managing Director of Spirit Yachts from 2014 to 2021
Prior to his role at Holland and Holland, Nigel was the Managing Director of Spirit Yachts from 2014 to 2021. He was brought in by the company's owners to execute a strategic turnaround, which included steering the company's focus towards delivering unparalleled quality in custom timber yachts for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Under his leadership, Spirit Yachts not only enhanced its reputation for craftsmanship but also pioneered advancements in eco-friendly marine technology. Notably, Nigel spearheaded the development of electric propulsion systems, including the 44e hydrocarbon-free sailing yacht and the hybrid superyacht GEIST.
Nigel's experience
Nigel's experience also includes his role as Managing Director at Discovery Yachts from 2008 to 2014. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong passion for environmental solutions within the marine sector, blending his mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to innovate sustainable maritime technologies.
In addition to his professional achievements, Nigel is an accomplished sailor. He holds certifications as an RYA Instructor (Sailing) and an RYA Yachtmaster (Yacht Cruising), and is an avid racer of dinghies and catamarans.
