EA Technology, specialists in asset management solutions for owners and operators of electrical assets, has launched two new innovative accessories for its market-renowned UltraTEV® Plus² Partial Discharge (PD) detection instrument.

These latest accessories enhance PD survey capabilities, allowing measurements to be taken via the Voltage Presence Indicating System (VPIS) connection and on barrier spacers for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), simplifying field operations, boosting efficiency, to deliver an even more comprehensive PD detection solution.

New accessories for UltraTEV® Plus² PD instrument

  • VPIS Accessory: This latest addition to the UltraTEV Plus² makes conducting a PD survey effortless. Just plug in, record, and proceed. This streamlined process eliminates the need for sensor repositioning, making regular PD surveys quick and easy, saving valuable time on-site.
  • Barrier Spacer UHF Sensor: The Barrier Spacer UHF Sensor has been engineered to achieve precise PD detection in Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). It can be used together with HFCTs, ultrasonic contact probes, and other UHF sensors to enhance the PD survey process across multiple GIS bays.
  • Advanced Technology and Integration: Leveraging the data collected during PD detection, the UltraTEV Plus² seamlessly integrates with EA Technology’s cloud-based Managed Surveys platform, providing detailed results and comprehensive data analysis, facilitating informed maintenance strategies and asset management decisions.

Integrated, one-stop solution for PD detection

Gareth Devine, Head of Development at EA Technology, emphasized the significance of these advancements, stating: "With the introduction of these advanced accessories, the UltraTEV Plus² now provides an integrated, one-stop solution for PD detection and asset condition assessment across diverse environments and asset types."

He adds, "This enhancement reflects our commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions that improve operational efficiency and reliability."

The UltraTEV Plus² along with the latest accessories is available now from EA Technology.
