Axpo announces Albula-Landwasser Kraftwerke AG (ALK) has commissioned the Tischbach power plant in Bergün. The 220 kilowatt small hydroelectric power plant uses water from an existing ALK water feed line and produces clean electricity for around 120 average four-person households.
The Tischbach small hydroelectric power plant was installed at the connection between the existing Tischbach water catchment and the Bergün balancing reservoir. This means that in future the water from the existing feed line will be used to generate energy.
Climate-friendly electricity
The through-flow turbine will produce 550,000 kilowatt hours of climate-friendly electricity annually, which corresponds to the annual consumption of 120 average four-person households.
The plant has been built without interfering with the environment. With the exception of an operating building directly next to the balancing reservoir, the small hydropower plant is not visible.
ALK Partners
ALK is a partner plant of Axpo (75%), EWD Elektrizitätswerk Davos AG (15.74%), the Canton of Graubünden (5%), and the concession communities of Albula/Alvra, Bergün, Filisur, and Schmitten (4.26%).
ALK's two power plants in Filisur (65 megawatts) and Tiefencastel (24 megawatts) use the water of the Albula and Landwasser rivers to produce electricity.
