Yangjiang Pumped Storage Power Station is a key project located in Guangdong Province with the largest single-unit capacity in China (400 MW) has successfully completed the trial operation.

The core protection & control equipment such as static frequency converter (SFC) and system protection provided by NR has laid a solid foundation for the smooth start-up, grid connection and safe operation of the unit.

With a totally designed installed capacity of 2.4 GW, Yangjiang storage power station is a giant 'regulator' and 'power bank', in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Bay areas. 

In order to fully release the potential of the largest single-unit capacity pump storage unit in China, NR Electric has developed the SFC system with the highest voltage level and the largest rated capacity, and has made technical breakthroughs in the product design stage from the aspects of the system insulation design, torque fluctuation suppression, sensor working condition adaptability, grid connection time optimization and so on.

In 2021, NR Electric successively helped to put into operation the first unit of Meizhou pumped storage and Yangjiang pumped storage, two key South Grid regulation projects, and created many good achievements, such as the largest single unit capacity of Yangjiang storage and the fastest infrastructure construction of Meizhou storage, further consolidating the performance pioneering advantage of NR pumped storage related products.
