The Waldorf senior citizens' working group has already volunteered in numerous work assignments for the local community in the past. For example, benches along hiking and farm trails were actively maintained and repaired.
The working group has now expanded the equipment shed to include a gate and fence system so that benches, tables and equipment for the voluntary projects can be safely stored. The Westenergie campaign was supported by the Westenergie active on site employee initiative with a grant of 2,000 euros.
Numerous work assignments
Jürgen Nachtsheim, a retired employee of Westenergie, who had successfully applied to his employer for funding for the project, was involved as a project sponsor.
"The new gate and fence system significantly improves the newly built equipment shelter, which we also built in 2022 with financial support from Westenergie, and protects it from access by unauthorized persons," says Jürgen Nachtsheim.
Westenergie aktiv vor Ort
Westenergie aktiv vor Ort is a Westenergie initiative in which employees volunteer for their fellow human beings in their free time. Anyone who rolls up their sleeves and gets involved in a good cause in their hometown receives a grant of up to 2,000 euros for materials.
Westenergie aktiv vor Ort has already implemented around 12,000 voluntary projects in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony.
