The eleven WEG motors for the project considered the largest with a combined cycle gas turbine in Central Asia were manufactured in the factory in China.

Currently, the structure and local manufacturing capacity of WEG Nantong is considered the same as the headquarters in Brazil, in addition, the location is a very interesting point for logistics as it is closer to the final destination of the products, in Uzbekistan.

independent power generation project

This is a 1,500MW gas combined cycle independent power generation project located in Syr Darya, Uzbekistan. The project contractors were China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group (CGGC) and Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co. Ltd. (ZTPC).

The success of the supply is due to the cooperation and trust that OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) have with WEG in relation to its experience in producing state-of-the-art products, robustness, high level of energy efficiency, and competitiveness.

The scope of the project

11 high voltage motors supplied for this project were respectively applied to centrifugal compressors

All motors are 11kV high voltage motors, 3 units of MGW Ex ec horizontal induction motor with power 15,500kW and frame 1000, 8 units of MGR series vertical induction motors with power from 900 to 3,000kW.

The 11 high voltage motors supplied for this project, with a total power of 60,660KW, were respectively applied to centrifugal compressors from Ingersoll Rand, water circulation pumps and long shaft pumps from Leo Group and condenser pumps from Ebara Pumps.

Project details:

The project is located 5 kilometers west of Shilin County, Syr Darya, Uzbekistan, about 150 kilometers from the capital Tashkent, with a construction area of about 75 hectares. It is the first IPP project and the largest power plant project in the country, in addition to the most advanced 9H gas turbine in the world.

As the first IPP project in Uzbekistan to attract foreign investment and development, the project makes full use of abundant local natural gas resources.

High-efficiency energy-saving and environmental protection project

The project adopts the world's highest combustion temperature, highest individual power, and highest efficiency gas turbine and "zero wastewater discharge" design scheme.

It is the world's leading high-efficiency energy-saving and environmental protection project. It can supply over 36 million kilowatt hours of electricity to the local power grid every day, benefiting millions of Uzbekistan residents. It is an important livelihood project planned by Uzbekistan.

Net power generation capacity

Electricity generated by the plant is exported to the national grid of Uzbekistan through AIS 500 kV/220 kV

In accordance with site conditions and combined cycle technology, the nominal contracted net power generation capacity of the proposed power plant site is expected to be 1,500 MW.

The electricity generated by the plant is exported to the national grid of Uzbekistan through the plant's special electrical installations/Automatic Identification System (AIS) 500 kV/220 kV under this project.

2+1 configuration

The power plant configuration is based on the power block principle of a 2+1 configuration: two multi-shaft units, each consisting of two gas turbines, HRSGs, and a steam turbine unit and associated auxiliary installations, form a power block.

This supply is another important reference for WEG and demonstrates the company's ability to produce solutions for renewable energy generation projects.
