At its meeting, the Supervisory Board of E.ON SE appointed Patrick Lammers as successor to Karsten Wildberger, who will leave the company at his own request to take over the position of CEO at Ceconomy AG.
Patrick Lammers
Lammers is currently CEO of E.ON subsidiary Essent, the electricity utility in the Netherlands. At the same time, he is responsible for the steering of E.ON’s customer solutions sales regions in Western and Eastern Europe.
Lammers joined Essent in 2010 and held various management roles before becoming a board member in 2012 and Chairman of the company's Board of Management in 2017. At the same time, he also held central Group functions for RWE Group and later innogy, including as SVP of Digital Retail.
Work experience
Lammers also has many years of in-depth experience in industries and markets outside the energy industry
In addition to his more than ten years in the energy sector, Lammers also has many years of in-depth experience in industries and markets outside the classical energy industry.
From 2007 to 2009, he was CEO of the British group Dyson plc, and from 2005 to 2007 he was Managing Director of Dureal, a start-up company for the sales, marketing, and production of AdBlue, which he developed into a pan-European company.
Prior to that, he worked for Royal Dutch Shell for around 15 years, holding international functions in Downstream.
Customer solutions
Karl-Ludwig Kley, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of E.ON SE, said "We are pleased to appoint Patrick Lammers an internal successor who has already made important contributions to the further development of our customer solutions business in recent years."
He adds, "We are convinced that the combination of his many years of experience within the energy industry and his knowledge of other businesses outside E.ON's core markets will be an asset to the Group's Board of Management team."
