On September 26, 2020, the 150kV Naxos substation in Greece with the protection and control provided by NR was successfully put into operation. The 150 kV Naxos power station project in Greece is an important part of the national key project of Greece, the interconnection project of Greece's Cycladic Islands (phase B).

The project connects Naxos Island with Paros and Mykonos through a 150 kV submarine cable, forming a ring network of Cycladic Islands including Syros, Paros, Mykonos, and Naxos. The commissioning of the project marks the formal formation of the archipelago ring network. The power supply of these isolated islands has been provided with a redundant power supply.

IEC 61850 ED2 + PRP communication scheme

The power supply reliability of the connected islands is improved and the power capacity transmitted from the mainland to the islands is increased. At the same time, the fossil fuel consumption for the island power supply is greatly reduced, which makes positive contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development.

NR provides PCS-S series of transformer, bus differential, reactor, capacitor, feeder, arc light, and other protection equipment for the project, as well as a substation automation system. The whole station adopts the IEC 61850 ED2 + PRP communication networking scheme.

The mature system solution of NR makes the product stable and reliable, easy to learn, easy to use, and easy to maintain, which won high praise from Greek customers. NR will continue to provide high-quality products and services to the Greek power grid in future projects.
