On February 9, 2022, the NR light rail energy feedback system with DC De-icer function was successfully implemented for the first time, effectively coping with the recent low-temperature rain and snow weather in Nanjing and ensuring the safe operation of trains on the Nanjing-Jurong line.
In the early morning of February 7, 2022, there was a sudden heavy snow in Nanjing. With the continuous low temperature, the DC overhead lines of Nanjing-Jurong elevated station were covered with ice, and the safety of train operation was threatened.
the Nanjing-Jurong light rail system
The energy feedback system provided by NR implemented the DC De-icer application for the first time, completed the topology reconstruction of the grid within ten minutes, and quickly built a DC ice melting system including energy feedback equipment at both ends of the icing area, overhead lines, and rail. The flexible and adjustable current is injected into the icing line to realize the rapid ice melting of the overhead lines and successfully ensure the safe operation of the Nanjing-Jurong light rail system.
In the early stage of project execution, NR took into account the ice melting demand of DC overhead lines, pre-arranged the energy feedback and ice melting technology of the whole line, customized the energy feedback equipment with line ice melting function for the Nanjing-Jurong line, and realized the ice melting/anti-icing function of DC overhead lines without increasing additional investment.
In recent years, NR has been deeply engaged in the rail transportation industry. Through innovative technologies, NR has effectively supported the economic benefits and safe operation of the urban rail transportation system.
