For 65 years and counting, Hill Electric has served the Upstate of South Carolina and beyond with trusted electrical contracting services. It believes in building long-lasting partnerships and upholding the highest standards of excellence in our field of service.

Hill Electric

Hill Electric's story of service began when we were founded in 1954 by Walter Hill. After years of working as an operator at the historic Portman Shoals Power Plant in Townville, SC, Hill decided to put his roots down in “Electric City”– Anderson, SC. Anderson is commonly known as “Electric City” because, in the 1800s, it became the first Southern city to channel electricity through long-distance cables from hydroelectric power plants.

This made Anderson an ideal place for Hill to settle and establish his own electric company. Mr. Walter Hill determined early on he needed to bring his son Bob Hill into the business.

Enhancing services

Hill Electric grew by hiring more industrial electricians and extending services within the automotive and paper mills

As the Upstate of South Carolina continued to grow, it proved promising for Hill, creating a greater need for reliable industrial electrical contractors. The textile industry was booming and Hill worked hard to continue honing his expertise to meet the electrical needs of nearby textile mills.

As the local area expanded and the economy shifted, Hill Electric grew by hiring more industrial electricians and extending services within the automotive and paper mill industries. Through the years, we’ve expanded further by being a key service provider to help power industrial equipment for textile, automotive, chemical, cutting tools, food & beverages, plastics, healthcare, and pharmaceutical companies.

Team expansion

As Hill Electric’s customer base and service footprint grew, it became necessary to expand its team. Mike Davis was hired in 1994 as a Project Manager. In 2001, he was promoted to Vice President and became a Partner in the Company, and currently, he is the President and Senior Partner.

Having worked at Hill Electric Company for more than twenty-five years, I am grateful to currently serving as President and Senior Partner. In everything I do, my focus is to continue the legacy Walter Hill began 65 years ago, and to reach and celebrate our 100th anniversary and beyond,” said Mike Davis.

Safety

Though the industries Hill Electric work in have evolved, and technology has advanced at warp speed, its values have remained steadfast through the years. Hill Electric truly values partnerships, respects its employees, and prioritizes safety.

Safety as a core value of our company means that we strive to maintain an excellent EMR rating and safety record."
