gridX has intelligently connected 34 charging points in two buildings of the media and technology company - Axel Springer. With the dynamic charging infrastructure of gridX, employees can now charge their electric vehicles.

According to the plan, ten charging points for electric vehicles were to be installed in the underground car park of the Axel Springer Passage and 24 charging points in the new Axel Springer building in Berlin. One challenge was the limited network capacity of the buildings.

Concept of digital transformation

With its Smart Charging solution, gridX provided the most adequate solution on the market

A manufacturer-independent dynamic charging solution made it possible to avoid a costly network expansion and expensive load peaks. With its Smart Charging solution, gridX provided the most adequate solution on the market and now makes it possible to control 34 charging points in two buildings of the media and technology company. Additional charging points can be added easily and unlimitedly in the future.

The dynamic charging of electric vehicles is a positive contribution to the digitalization of the energy industry and fits perfectly into the concept of digital transformation, to which AxelSpringer was one of the first German media companies to open up.

Smart Charging solution

"The cooperation with gridX was professional and result-oriented, both in the technical coordination for the installation of the load management and commissioning, as well as in the technical support after handover. The management dashboard provided for the control and monitoring of the system is self-explanatory and displays all information and settings relevant to the user in a clearly arranged manner," said Lutz Seidenberg, Corporate Technical Management, Axel Springer Services & Real Estate.

The manufacturer-independent Smart Charging solution enables companies with a large number of charging points to control all charging processes in a cost-effective and intelligent way.

Building's grid connection

If the building's grid connection reaches its maximum capacity, the dynamic load management automatically adapts the charging behavior of the electric vehicles within seconds.

To meet individual mobility needs, various charging scenarios can be configured, including prioritized charging. Predictive charging is also possible, taking into account the next time of use and the required range.
