DNV, the independent assurance and risk management provider, and Renji Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, proudly announced the renewal of their partnership, continuing their successful collaboration into its seventh year.
Since 2017, Renji Hospital's international department has actively participated in DNV's International Medical Quality Certification Program, with the overarching goal of enhancing the standard of its medical services.
Tertiary public hospitals
Renji Hospital was established in 1844 and was the first hospital of western medicine in Shanghai. It now comprises four branches and the Shanghai Cancer Institute.
In October 2015, the Renji Hospital International Clinic was inaugurated – a pioneering achievement that marked it as the first international clinic of family medicine within the framework of tertiary public hospitals in China. The clinic’s unwavering commitment is to providing comprehensive, high-quality medical services to both domestic and international patients.
International outpatient program
The renewal of the partnership between Renji Hospital and DNV represents a new chapter
In January 2017, Renji Hospital began the process of certifying its international outpatient program to DNV’s quality standards. It successfully passed its initial evaluation in April 2018 to earn the prestigious DNV certification.
In doing so, the international outpatient clinic not only set a quality benchmark for foreign medical services in China, but it also significantly elevated the quality of service and overall patient experience in large multi-campus, public hospitals.
Medical quality certification
The renewal of the partnership between Renji Hospital and DNV represents a new chapter in the realm of medical quality certification. Both DNV and Renji Hospital International Clinic are steadfast in their commitment to advancing the hospital's international medical quality certification, emphasizing their focus on high-quality patient-centred care and safety.
In alignment with Shanghai's 14th Five-Year Plan, which aims to expedite the development of international medical tourism and encourage qualified public hospitals to provide international medical services, Renji Hospital's International Clinic’s preparation over the past seven years has provided invaluable insights and guidance for current endeavors and beyond.
