CP Electronics and Wattstopper (a USA subsidiary of Legrand) will be showcasing their brand new innovative outdoor lighting solutions at Europe’s largest annual lighting event, LuxLive 2019.
The two lighting controls manufacturers will be demonstrating how they are disrupting the outdoor lighting market, with their digital sensors and network-controlled solutions. The collaborative solutions are set to pave the way for smarter, more efficient outdoor lighting that ensures substantial energy and maintenance cost savings.
Wattstopper FDP-301 series, detectors
Taking place at ExCeL London on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th November 2019, CP Electronics will be introducing the ground-breaking Wattstopper FDP-301 series, alongside a host of other standalone outdoor detectors.
These sensors, IP66 and IK09 rated, help revolutionize how facility engineers and city managers monitor, control, commission, and diagnose outdoor lighting, whilst enhancing safety and security for the general public.
FDP-301 series features
FDP-301 series can be plugged into external lighting units via the Zhaga, Book 18 socket
Quick and easy to install, the FDP-301 series can be plugged into external lighting units via the Zhaga, Book 18 socket. They can be monitored and controlled either locally or by connecting to a smart city node system, giving engineers greater flexibility and control.
Integrating technology with outdoor lighting comes with its unique challenges; from environmental factors to energy usage and cost. Driven by emerging technologies, these sensors feature the open standard, Multi-Master, Sensor Ready (SR) protocol which allows interoperability with products from other Signify qualified SR partners. This innovative solution boasts the following features:
- Programmed to switch off, or to dim down when not needed
- Powered from the SR driver’s own power supply unit (PSU), reducing solution costs
- Motion detection monitors a person’s movement and only switches the required luminaires
- Feature a detection range of up to 30m diameter
- They can be mounted up to 12m high, making them suitable for most pathway fittings
smart lighting technology
Martin Allcock, CP Electronics’ OEM Sales Manager says, “While the focus for lighting control has so far been largely on indoor environments, this is now shifting to the outdoors. Used to illuminate everything from parks, pathways, and building perimeters to retail parks and warehouse bays, lighting controls offer a sense of security as well as act as a deterrent to criminal activity.
“The new breed of smart lighting technology we will be displaying at LuxLive is a fantastic example of how outdoor lighting can be streamlined and save a huge amount of money for operators and owners, whether it is via energy costs, installation, or maintenance. There is a solution that should fit most, if not all needs, that will take our customers into the next generation of connectivity.”
