Aggreko is proud to be partnering with PIF Saudi International to provide more solar power than ever before at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, Jeddah. Utilizing sustainable options like solar energy and biofuel in three areas for the event, we are helping this flagship golfing event significantly save on CO2 emissions.

Aggreko’s sustainable energy solution for the event includes a 60 kW solar gem, running in the village as a back-feed into a synchronized package of 3 x 200 kVA generators. A 90 kW powr2 solar unit powering two structures on the 16th hole, while a similar system with a 45 kW powr2 unit is running on the 14th, backed up by a 60 kVA thermal generator.

Standalone solar panels

Aggreko also installed standalone solar panels on the roof of the PIF structure on the 16th hole hospitality area to feed direct into the two powr2 units to furthermore reduce the generator’s run times. During the daytime, the solar gem will provide direct to the load and the generators will synchronize to take up the remaining load.

Aggreko’s modular solution is designed for flexibility, scalability, and rapid deployment. The entire solution was delivered in a 20ft container, housing a complete module to be connected to the solution. The finished installation can be viewed by attendees at the Energy Zone – an area designed to showcase the ATS Jeddah event’s commitment to sustainability.
